I was born and raised in Germany by loving and artistic parents. Neither one of them was an artist, but both of them had many talents; my father more so than my mother. I was the oldest of three children, which was a slight pain since I was always the one that had to watch out for them. I learned fast how to boss them around and that was fun.
I started discovering the wonderful things, that a pencil could do when I was three. I doodled and drew a lot and it did not take long before I discovered yet another wonderful tool: colored pencils. All this grew into being a great hobby and love for art. Needless to say I was good in that subject in school, way better than in any other subject. Who needed grammar or math? Not me. Boy, was I wrong. I learned the very hard way because I was extremely stubborn.
After high school I wanted to study art. Of course Dad wouldn’t let me. No daughter of his was going to be an artist and end up sleeping under a bridge somewhere. My family always was in business, so, since I was stubborn and didn’t want to study, father knows best, and I ended up in our business. That was not bad. I liked it a lot. But I could not forget my love ART.

I hung out with artists, some of them big names, others not so well known, I had a wonderful time and learned a lot from all of them. You see, a lot of them were going through art-school and I asked them lots of questions. I learned from them.
When I was 19, I went to a huge Exhibit for my Dad’s business. That was a blast. boy did I have a good time. Walking the halls, meeting lots of guys, going out every night and so on. And this is where I met my guy. When I was 21, we were married. A year later my husband and I were transferred to the USA for my husbands company. What an adventure. Everything was different, no matter what. Social rules, food, how you open the windows etc. We were like wide eyed little kids. And we pigged out on ice-cream any chance we got. There is no country on earth, that makes ice-cream as wonderful as the good old US of A

We had a wonderful time learning a whole new way of life. There were also very funny moments. After 6 years we became citizens and that is now thirty some years ago. We have been back numerous times, enjoyed every time, but home is here.
Since I always loved Art I was always doing something. Among other things I love any kind of needlework, including knitting. My favorite one is counted cross-stitch. Many years ago I started designing cross-stitch patterns and had quite a bit of success with it. Then I thought “what am I doing, I really want to paint” So.... from one day to the next I quit that entire business, changed my phone number and started to paint. And here I am World, please take notice.
I also am a Reiki Master. I love helping people and animals and I love to heal. I have been healing since I’m 4 years old. I did not know it but I do now. My Mom and Dad always remarked on my hands being so soft and warm. Friends and family would come and ask me to put my hands onto a spot that was hurting. They would smile at me and tell me, that my touch would make it feel better, or quite often take the pain away totally.
Animals would act the same way. They would let me touch and hold them where they would almost kill others. As I grew older this all got stronger. Then I heard about Reiki and got trained.
I am a collector of all kinds of wonderful things. I love and enjoy life and live every day to the fullest. I also love people and studying them. I adore animals and can’t live without them. Music I absolutely have to have. I really think, that I would die without it. Music is the food and the paintings of my soul and mind.
Artistically Yours:
Sigrid
